Over at tumblr, wankyusername aka piecesofalice asked me to do a mix for my favourite director's latest movie. This was tricky because I had to pick a favourite director and I ended up with the *controversial* choice of Lars von Trier.

Anyway, I made a mix!

If you are going to do this, you need to do it before March 1st. It has been said that users will not be able to do anything about this after that date.

With reference to Google's policy changes and how everything you do with your Google account will be tied together into their super-cauldron of information, you will probably want to clear your Google Web History out - if you turned that feature on - before month's end. After that, you won't be able to clear it, and everything you search for will be connected with your account.

To check settings and/or clear out your Web History:

1. Go to Google. If you aren't signed in already, do so.
2. In the top right-hand corner you'll find your email address or name, perhaps an icon if you have a Plus account, and a little downward facing arrow. Click on the arrow and a menu will pop up.
3. Click to 'Account Settings'. This will take you to a page called 'Accounts'. (If you have a Plus account, you might go via a Plus sign-in page.)
4. Scroll down to a section called 'Services'. Here you'll find an option called 'View, enable, or disable web history', which has a link next to it. Click on the link.
5. If you never turned web history on, you'll get a page asking if you want to turn this service on. Just click 'No Thanks' and all is good. If you did turn it on, you should have a list of your searches. At the top there is a button that says 'Remove All History'. Click this and follow the instructions which will remove all items from your Web History and pause the feature so nothing else will be added in future.

Also, you can completely remove Web History as a service from your account by clicking THIS LINK, checking the tick-box and confirming you want to remove Web History. To be safe, it is probably best to do the steps above first to remove any history that might have already been collected.

but I suddenly care about Person of Interest. Like, a lot? I started watching because everything else is on hiatus and I'm fully cognizant of its faults as a show, and by god there are faults, but I've watched all the episodes at least once, some twice, and I want the next episodes now, and I've read as much fic as I can find.

For the record, I don't actually recommend this show. Cut for verbosity.Collapse )

Also also, it's lithy's fault.

TL;DR? Have an equation!

(shitty one-liners x (manpain + real physical pain) x (batman / 2) x surveillance fetish)
+ (strong female character x non-sexual representation)
+ (comic relief x a redemption arc)
+ (new york new york x realistic and non-obsessive mentions of 9/11)
= profit???

Anyway, I made a mix, which is my go to thinky thought action.

Yeah, yeah, you shut up and take your music.

Cut for remixes and Mountain Goats and such.Collapse )

I love True Grit. I love lindentree and her stories about Mattie and LaBoeuf, which are absolutely worth reading if you like attention to detail and excellent characterisation. I love cover songs.

I do not like country music.

And yet, I have piled up 10 cover songs, eight of which seem to carry traits of country music! Or at least cowboy music! Songs about stubborn people in love and being really bad at it seem popular in the country genre. Thus, this.

For the record, every song is from the perspective of LaBoeuf.

Was so big (almost twenty minutes) and got so many viewers, it crashed the mirror site it was loaded onto. About an hour ago?

Hussie apologised to everyone, and just put the whole thin on Megaupload so we can watch it.

The download is here. Don't you dare watch it unless you've read the first part of the new update, here, or, y'know, have read all the rest of it.

If this all looks unbearably insane to you, that's because it is, but there is a terribly sweet explanation about it here.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, that's probably for the best, but is also a bit sad.
